Born October 4, 1946
Susan Sarandon began her film career in the small but pivotal role of the runaway daughter in Joe. She also had a few supporting roles in The Front Page and The Great Waldo Pepper before signing on as Janet (a heroine) in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Since then, her career has skyrocketed to the point she is now considered one of Hollywood's finest actresses. Some of her better known films are The Hunger, Pretty Baby, The Witches Of Eastwick, White Palace, Bull Durham, and Stepmom.
She has received four Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for Atlantic City, Thelma & Louise, Lorenzo's Oil, The Client, and won an Academy Award for her role in Dead Man Walking.
Susan is also a dedicated mother and strong political and social activist who campaigns and becomes involved in many important issues including AIDS, world hunger and political oppression.
