Born March 12, 1945

Jim Sharman is most well known as the director of the all time leading cult film. He had directed stage productions of HAIR and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in his native Australia. His first film was the sci-fi rock and roll low budget SHIRLEY THOMPSON VS THE ALIENS. This experience was perfect when he was approached by Richard O'Brien to direct THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.

Besides directing the film he collaborated on the screen play with Richard O'Brien. He was also happy to be back with ROCKY HORROR's creative team when he directed SHOCK TREATMENT. He also directed the Australian film THE NIGHT, THE PROWLER. Mr. Sharman lives and works in Australia and is very involved with the Sydney Opera House.
